This episode of ‘Psych’ was titled ‘Heeeeere’s Lassie!‘ And it was directed by James Roday. Lassiter is usually eccentric but at times who moves over from that to being insane and that is when he is at his best. He was insane in this episode. Tim Omundson has got that character in his pocket and knows how to work it up.
But Lassiter only wanted to get a place for him and Marlowe and it was like he had to get to the ends of the earth and back to get this done. But the entertainment value this brought was what the episode and indeed the show is all about. Gus screaming at Lassiter as he used the sword on the door was an item.
Maybe it’s the name or the show itself but ‘Psych’ has always paid homage to horror flicks and this episode was no different. The director of this episode also happens to have a soft spot for that genre of films as well so it should come as no surprise that they paid homage to ‘The Shining’.
Those that came to the show today as guest stars added to the comedy. Lou Gousset Jr. and Sara Rue were the kind of neighbors you don’t see often. Rue’s character was a nut case and very funny.
Fans also got to see Shatner once again. His return to the show has been much talked about. It was like O’Hara came in response to a call from Shawn. If not for his conscience when it came to Jules Shawn would have gotten his approval. Shawn has not yet owned up about his abilities to Juliet but O’Hara could not tell as well. But as this story line builds it does look as if Shawn has to tell her the truth before irreparable damage takes place.
O’Hara decided to hold on to his approval implying that Shawn has to come clean first to Juliet. But it could also mean that he really does not approve of them marrying and if that be the case, then fans should brace up for more drama.
The season is just starting out and it has been wonderful. Here’s hoping to continue to build on this much beloved show.
