Psych 7.13 “Nip and Suck It” Review

Henry and Shawn face each other off in “Nip and Suck It” to find who is the first to finish the case.

This was the second-to-last episode of “Psych.” The penultimate episode was not as awesome as the installment before the finale ought to be. Gus’ face and a few one-liners rescue the episode.

Nip and Suck It

Henry is itching to return into the game. Shawn and Gus have consistently refused to solve cases without Henry’s involvement. Henry discovers this. He decides to lead, and be ahead of his proteges.

It is easy to forget that Henry is responsible for making Shawn the detective he is today. Gus has witnessed Shawn’s mentoring first-hand.

Gus decides not everything is well with his earlobes. Then he turns his focus to his forehead. The poor guy is not able to catch a break this week. He feels insecure. His insecurity results in frozen facial features.

Shawn pretends to know everything. He attributes Gus’ strange behavior to not talking with Rachel for more than 16 days. Gus and Rachel’s relationship is reaching a crucial junction – where it can make or break. The person who is about to break up does not send his partner cookies. This gesture of Rachel makes one rethink if they are really going to break up.

Rethinking brings us back to Henry. His eagerness to return to the game puts him in the path of an old fame. Initially he resists the temptation to date Joan Diamond because he wants to help Shawn. Then he gives in to his desire and goes on a second date. They appear cute in their fishing hats. Henry may finally be getting into a little relationship of his.

While we are at relationship, it is important to notice Shules’ return. His return is a little disappointing. They made the return such a big deal. Shawn even went as far as to hide it from Juliet that he was not psychic.

Then the whole issue is rubbed under the carpet as the people make amends in the streets. The upshot of the whole story is that Juliet and Shawn are back.

Shawn blames Juliet. He uses the word “officially” and claims it was she who “made him work for it.” Then he adds: “But it was worth it.”

Anthony Michael Hall is scheduled to appear in “Psych” next Wednesday. But where is the chief Vick?

There is an interesting hypothesis emerging at this point of time: Trout is probably an energy efficiency expert. He is probably there to gauge the efficient of the SBPD. He may be working for the new mayor. How does this link him to chief Vick? We will have to watch the finale to find out.
